A lawmaker representing Zamfara west senatorial zone, Senator Lawal Hassan, has empowered over 300 vulnerable men and women with cash assistance in Maradun local government Area of the state.
Senator Hassan who was represented by Zamfara west vice chairperson of APC Hajiya Ai Maradun explained that the gesture was aimed at boosting the morale of people of his constituency.
“Each beneficiary would receive the sum of N10,000 cash as assistance to uplift their small business for them to be self reliant”.
According to the senator the beneficiaries were carefully selected and drawn from wards across Maradun local government.
He said the gesture was extended to five local government councils of his constituency where over 2000 constituents will benefit.
“We extended the program to remaining five local governments in the west senatorial constituency and over 2000 will benefit, to enable the beneficiaries have means of cushioning the current socioeconomic hardship”.
