(SINL NIGERIA) The Senator A A Yari scholarship Initiative committee has revealed that it has paid a total sum of two hundred and sixteen million Naira for the registration and school fees of 2,055 indigent and orphan youths in Zamfara State.
Addressing newsmen at the Secretariat of the committee, the publicity secretary of the group, Hon. Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidangoga said that the school fees was paid to 16 public and 3 private tertiary institutions across the Northwest zone.
He pointed out that all the school fees have been paid by the committee so far, saying that the committee has assured continuous payment of school fees until the end of their studies.
According to him, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari paid for schools fees of 50 students of Istiqama university in Kano State, 200 students of Northwest university, Sokoto, 101 students of Green Garden university from his personal account.
The committee also promised to pay the sum of N15,000 monthly allowances to each student for upkeeps from 2024, saying that arrears would be paid.
“This committee is being headed by Senator Tijani Yahaya Kaura, who will not allow nobody hijack the program, he said.
