The Senator Representing Abia North Senatorial Zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed optimism that the threat by the United States of America to invade Nigeria over alleged Genocide against Christians will be resolved diplomatically.
Recall, American President, Donald Trump threatened that the US military may invade Nigeria if the Nigerian government did not tackle terrorism and Banditry which according to them has claimed more Christian lives.
But, Ozor Kalu, a former governor of Abia state on Tuesday in Abuja, while fielding questions from newsmen assured that the impasse will be resolved diplomatically, stressing that the report American is using to assess the situation in Nigeria was reportedly obtained when President Bola Tinubu was not in office.
The lawmaker stated that the remarks by Trump about Nigeria was the truth, saying the people killed in Plateau and Benue are Christians, adding that the people killed in Zamfara mosque are Muslims.
“Donald Trump said the truth, Nigerians are being killed, whether they are Christians or Muslims. Are they not being killed? If they kill people in Plateau, they go to church in Plateau, those they kill are Christians, If they go to Benue, the majority of people they kill in Benue are Christians. If they go to Zamfara, majority of people they kill in a mosque are Muslims. So these people are jihadists” Kalu said.
He explained that the Jihadists just want to destroy Nigeria. “They will be smoked out. Let me also tell you the American president cannot talk anyhow, in my own little way, I have spoken to two former presidents, one Republican and one Democrat, and they all agree that they will help”.
