Liverpool are showing interest in signing Watford star Ismaila Sarr, according to reports.

Sarr, 22, has scored five goals and provided five assists in the Premier League this season. And he impressed Jurgen Klopp when he laid on two goals in Watford’s stunning 3-0 win over the Reds back in February.

The club-record £27million signing from Rennes was recently described by Sky pundit Gary Neville as “a big talent”.

Neville went as far as to say that his former club United should be looking at Sarr as a cut-price alternative to Sancho, who is expected to cost in excess of £100million.

A report in the Sunday Mirror claims that that the Reds are monitoring Sarr, although any potential transfer could be scuppered by enmity between Watford and the Merseysiders.

That’s according to Liverpool.com, which says the bad feeling dates back to 2016, when the Reds tried to sign Polish international Piotr Zielinski from Udinese.
