A former Deputy of Zamfara state, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala has formally dumped the All Progressive Congress, (APC) for People’s Democratic party, (PDP).

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at his Gada Biyu residence in Gusau, Wakkala who served for 8 years as deputy Governor said his decision was based on various consultations.

“After consultations with my former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, my family, friends, well wishers and political mentors, I formally decamp to PDP”.

According to him, for two years now, people in the state were going round with rumour of his defection to PDP, as a result of his closeness with Governor Bello Mohammed Mattawale.

“All along Governor Bello Mattawale listened and took my advise on the development and security of the state, which I considered as a honour to me.

“Governor Mattawale has begged me to join his party PDP, after consulting with my political associates, I now join PDP from my Galadima ward to local government and state”.

He maintained that he would continue to be friendly to all his associates notwithstanding his defection to the PDP.

“Before my decision to leave APC for PDP, I had written my former boss, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and my former party, APC” Wakkala said.
