Iranian authorities have carried out the execution of Roozbeh Vadi, a man convicted of espionage for Israel.

According to the judiciary’s Mizan Online website, Vadi was put to death by hanging after being found guilty of leaking classified information about a nuclear scientist who was assassinated during Israel’s 12-day war with Iran in June.

The website reported that Vadi, who worked at a sensitive Iranian organization, was recruited online by Israel’s Mossad spy agency and used his access to pass on vital information.

The Supreme Court had confirmed Vadi’s sentence, leading to his execution. Details of his arrest and sentencing remain unclear.
