Military Boosts Security in Kebbi with Deployment of Armoured Vehicles

(SINL NIGERIA) The federal government has  deployed four Armoured Personnel Carriers, APCs to Kebbi State to  curb insecurity and fortify security measures in the State. 

The presentation of the vehicles took place at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.

Governor Nasir Idris inspected  the APCs alongside Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh, Commanding Officer of 223 Light Tank Battalion, Zuru and Major A.P. Azubuine, Commanding Officer of 1 Battalion Rear, Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor inspected the vehicles and expressed appreciation, “the deployment of this military hardware is a welcome development, particularly for our vulnerable local government areas, as it will enable security forces to effectively counter bandit threats” 

The Governor highlighted the important role this move would play in enhancing the capabilities of security personnel to tackle bandits and establish peace.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for providing these armoured vehicles to reinforce security operations. Our administration remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting security agencies in achieving operational success”

The Governor also conveyed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and top security officials, noting, that the efforts of the military in combating banditry have been met with immense gratitude from our communities. 

“We urge residents in affected regions to collaborate with security forces by furnishing timely and actionable intelligence to facilitate ongoing operations. Additionally, we pay tribute to our fallen heroes and continue to support their families to ensure their well-being”

Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh acknowledged the support from the Military High Command.

Major A.P. Azubuine formally presented two of the APCs to Governor Idris, symbolizing the Nigerian Army’s enhanced logistical support to the state.
