(SINL NIGERIA) The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Thursday said it has addressed concerns raised by importers and licensed customs agents regarding recent delays in transmitting Product Certificates for Form M and SONCAP on the B’Odogwu platform.
According to the service, the delays were caused by technical integration challenges that arose when the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) was onboarded onto the platform on July 23, 2025.
A statement by the National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, Assistant Comptroller of Customs emphasised that
these system-related issues temporarily affected traders’ ability to accurately capture their Form M, PAAR, and Single Goods Declaration (SGD).
Specifically, the NCS acknowledged that the challenges encountered included limited space for trader names, incorrect data formatting, missing 10-digit product codes, ambiguous error prompts, and difficulties linking the Tax Identification Number (TIN) to traders’ profiles.
“However, the NCS, in collaboration with SON, has successfully resolved the transmission issues as of August 6, 2025. Product Certificates and SONCAP documents are now being transmitted seamlessly, and the backlog of affected transactions is being cleared”.
The statement added that to support stakeholders, the NCS has rolled out nationwide implementation of the B’Odogwu platform across Zones A, B, C, and D, with trained officers providing hands-on technical assistance to traders and licensed agents.
Meanwhile, the NCS reiterated its commitment to transparency, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, with regular training sessions ongoing to build user capacity and resolve operational challenges on the platform.
