Palliatives: Zamfara Governor procures 40 trucks of grains

The Zamfara state government has procured forty trucks of assorted grains for distribution as palliatives to the vulnerable persons in the state.

Governor Bello Matawalle who spoke through, the Permanent Secretary Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Jafar on Thursday, reiterated the determination of the government to provide necessary succour to caution hardship. 

He maintained that the stringent measures adopted by the state government was introduced in good faith in order to have a lasting peace in the state.

According to him, the government was not unaware of the hardship being experience by the people as a result of the stringent measure. 

“Measures were put in place to caution the hardship in different ways”.

He said the decision of the government to purchase assorted grains for distribution to the people was a demonstration of government concern.

Matawalle said a committee was set up under the leadership of Hon. Sani Jaji in order to ensure fair and equitable distribution of the grains.

He urged members of the committee to be just and fair in the distribution, saying government would not condone any act of diversion of the palliatives.
