(SINL NIGERIA) The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have collaborated with Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in tackling insecurity in Borno state.
A statement on Saturday by Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, Lt Colonel Sani Uba said the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Borno State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Ambassador Abatcha Umar Nanabe, visited Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI.
According to the statement the PCRC chairman visit was to interact with the Theatre Commander on the potentials for future collaboration in the field of security in the North East region and Nigeria as a whole.
Similarly, the newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Borno State Command, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has called for strengthening of the already existing relationship between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the NSCDC in tackling insurgency in the state.
Earlier, the PCRC chairman applauded the OPHK for supporting and honouring their invitation to the recently concluded PCRC 1st Borno State Security Training Workshop held at the University of Maiduguri.
He stressed that the gesture would go a long way in further cementing the cordial relationship and enhancing collaboration between OPHK, paramilitary organisations and the public in the collective effort to eradicate insurgency in Borno, the North East, and Nigeria.
Ambassador Nanabe also stated that the visit was to condole with the Theatre Commander on the demise of the Commander, 7 Military Intelligence Brigade, late Colonel Bello Umaru, who passed away recently.
He assured that the PCRC would continue to partner with the JTF (NE) in future civil-military cooperation activities whenever called upon.
Responding, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar welcomed the PCRC delegation and assured them that the Theatre Command would continue to partner with the Committee, especially in the area of security and other activities of the Civil-Military Cooperation.
Meanwhile, NSCDC Commandant Agalama spoke when he paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maiduguri, on Thursday, 11 September 2025.
He recalled that the Nigerian Armed Forces have contributed immensely in training NSCDC personnel and stressed that the organisation have continued to work closely in joint operations across the country.
He noted that NSCDC personnel, together with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, operate in providing security to critical national assets.
He therefore thanked the Theatre Commander for the support so far and requested for more support, collaboration and partnership in the overall interest of national security.
Also speaking, the Theatre Commander OPHK thanked the NSCDC team for the continued partnership with the Joint Task Force OPHK.
He however assured the Commandant of the Theatre’s commitment to strengthening collaboration, particularly as the mandate of JTF (NE) OPHK includes the protection of critical national infrastructure in line with the recent Presidential Order on safeguarding such strategic assets.
He pointed out that the Joint Task Force (NE) comprised of personnel from various security agencies which is the reason for the successes achieved in the fight against insecurity in the North East region.
He commended the outstanding performance of NSCDC personnel in the frontline and expressed gratitude to the NSCDC for deploying capable hands to the theatre.
He also assured the Commandant of the sustenance of collaboration for enhanced synergy. Highlights of the visits included the exchange of souvenirs and group photographs.
