VOCATIONAL TRAINING: Rep member, Hon. Bakura empowers constituents

In a bid to enhance human capacity development in the country, and Zamfara state in particular, a member representing Bakura/Maradun federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Ahmad Mohammad Bakura has empowered his constituents on various skills of human endeavour.

Recall, prior to the recent programme, the lawmaker has empowered his constituents on rice production. 

Today, the programme has produced many entrepreneurs in wet and dry season rice farming in the two local government areas that make up the constituency.

The training, conducted in collaboration with the National Productivity Center, Abuja, saw over 100 farmers, mostly youths and women as well as some extension workers from the two local government councils.

Honourable Bakura recently, provided additional projects, all in an effort to make the people of Bakura and Maradun local government areas self sufficient.

Specifically, the lawmaker rolled out three vocational training programmes simultaneously; oil milling, Cobbling and mining training.

Indeed, he provided opportunity for 50 members of the constituency to undergo training in Cobbling, which held at the Zamfara College of Agric and Animal Science, in Bakura.

The programme under review, saw the selection of 25 participants each from Bakura and Maradun local councils as beneficiaries.

Similarly, an oil milling programme was also incorporated, where another 50 all female trainees were mobilised for oil milling training also at the Zamfara state College of Animal Science in Bakura.

At the end of the training, in the category of cobbling, each trainee went home with cobbling machine, shoes and twenty thousand naira.

In the female category, which also had 50 women, each participant received an oil milling machine and a grant of twenty thousand naira.

Meanwhile, honourable Bakura added another feather to his cap, which saw the training of 50 youths, all from Bakura/Maradun constituency at the Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geo Sciences in Jos, Plateau.

The highlight of the one week intensive training was the presentation of certificate to the trainees.

Participants also went home with fifty thousand naira each and assorted items, including; boots, helmets, hand gloves and T-shirts.
