Wamakko donates N.5m to Vision FM, Association, harps on objectivity

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman,  Senate Committee on Anti Corruption,  Senator Aliyu Magatakarda, has donated N500,000 to the Vision FM, Radio, Sokoto, as well as the Listeners’ Association of the Radio Station.

This is just as he harped on the need for objectivity and abiding by ethics, by Journalists in the country.

Bashir Rabe Mani, Special Assistant,  Media and Publicity, to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, made the disclosure Sunday night in a statement made available to SINL Nigeria Online.

Wamakko, a former Governor in the State, announced the donation on Saturday, in Sokoto, at the Fifth Anniversary Celebration of the Radio  Station, as well as the Vision FM Listeners Association ( VIFLAS).

Represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Tudun Doki, Wamakko also charged Journalists in the country, to accord top priority to the sustenable peace, unity  and socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria in their reportage.

Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District also reminded Media practitioners in the country; “All of us have no any other country to call our own, but Nigeria.

“So, we should be mindful of the need to keep the country one and indivisible, as well as always strive to make it greater, and not to jeorpadise its progress”.

Wamakko promised to continue to assist and partner Media organizations, to facilitate the human capital development of Nigerians and bolster peace and unity. 

He expressed delight that, he enjoys a robust relationship with Media organs and media practitioners, within and outside Nigeria.

The lawmaker extolled the invaluable contributions of Vision FM,  Radio, Sokoto, in broadening the broadcasting landscape in the State, as well as Nigeria, in general.

On the association, Wamakko said that, its importance cannot be overemphasized, sequel to its unwavering commitment to boosting the socioeconomic development of the state.

The state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida,  represented by the State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi, also donated N100,000.

The Chief Launcher, Engineer Mustapha Kofar Marke also announced a donation of N500,000.

Several other donations were also doled out to the Station and the association at the ceremony.

Awards of Excellence and Certificates of Recognition were also given to some individuals and members of staff who excelled in the discharge of their duties.
