The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has fixed Kaura Namoda South by-election into the Zamfara State House of Assembly for 16th August 2025.
The by-election followed the death of a former State lawmaker, Aminu Kasuwar Daji, who represented Kaura Namoda.
The State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mahmuda Isah stated this during a stakeholders meeting on Tuesday in Gusau.
He stated that the State House of Assembly has declared the seat vacant in line of with the provision of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through INEC.
“The election will hold in six registered areas with total number of 59,496 eligible voters, to take place at Banga, Dan- Isah, Kagara, Kurya Madaro, Kyambarawa and Sakajiki”
He assured that the Commission has made adequate security arrangements to provide watertight security, to ensure that voters cast their votes without fear.
“Let me remind you that successful conduct of the election is a responsibility of all of us, the stakeholders. INEC is planning this election in the manner that it will be free, fair and credible and pass the test of acceptability.
“However, such will only be possible where all the stakeholders play their roles as provided by the laws of country”.
