Zamfara shuts down 4 private clinics -Commissioner

The Zamfara state government has shut down four private clinics and Nursing home for inability to meet set standard.


Similarly, 40 others are being screen in an on going verification exercise.


Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Gusau, the state Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Yahaya kanoma expressed the determination of the administration of Governor Bello Mattawale to improve health care service to the people.


“The present administration of Governor Bello Matawalle Maradun is very much determine to provide quality Health Care to all citizens of the state”.


He said the affected clinics and Nursing home that were closed down include Shasha clinic Nasarawa, Samawa, Matuzgi and Dansadau Nursing home in Gusau the state capital.


“Our concern is Zamfara first, let the owners fulfill all the guidelines. We took action to close down unregistered ones, including Dansadau Nursing home”.


Kanoma disclosed that his ministry is committed to sanitize private health institutions to ensure provision of qualitative health in the state.


“We received complain on the activities of some private clinics, hospitals, Nursing homes and Digonistics centers from SSS, NDLEA, Civil defence and other security agencies”.


Also speaking, the Director Inspectorate Services, ministry of health, Bashir Adamu Gusau said they embarked on inspection of all private hospitals and clinics in the state to ensure sanity and professionalism.


He noted that there are over 40 private hospitals, clinics and Nursing home that are being screen to ensure they meet the requirements.
