The son of the former Governor of Jigawa state, Mustapha Sule Lamido has won the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held Wednesday in Dutse.
However, an aspirant, Bashir Adamu withdrew from the race shortly before the election.
Mustapha Lamido went into the contest with the former Minister of state for Works, Alhaji Saleh Shehu Hadejia.
A total of 910 delegates were accredited out of 915, while 832 delegates voted during the Primaries and three votes were invalid.
Mustapha Lamido got 829 votes while his Challenger got no vote.
In his acceptance speech, Lamido said the youths are set to take oIver power from the older ones.
