Stakeholders of Niger North senatorial district in Niger state on Thursday presented nomination form of All Progressives Congress (APC) obtained by the constituents to Senator Aliyu Abdulllahi to seek re-election in 2023.
Abdullahi ( APC Niger North) is the deputy chief whip of the Senate.
Presenting the nomination form to the lawmaker at an event held at the Senate wing of the National Assembly, leader of the delegation, Alhaji Abdulmumin Attahiru said the guesture followed his quality representation at the Senate.
Attahiru said Niger North comprising 87 wards is calling on the Senator to contest the seat next year.
He recalled the giant stride of Senator Abdullahi in the provision of infrastructure and his efforts to tackle the menace of banditry, which has bedeviled part of Niger state.
Also speaking, the Director General of the campaign for re-election of the senator, Alhaji Danladi Mohammed said “Abdullahi is a Messiah of the common man. In 2015, we struggled he emerged, in 2019 we did and he emerged. We are going to struggle in 2023 for him to emerge”.
He added “we expect nothing less in the 10th Assembly, that he will emerge.
“We have come to appreciate the man who shaped the future of children of Niger North senatorial district.
“We are calling on him to get up into the race as senator representing us at the 10 Assembly” he said.
Responding, the lawmaker, who accepted the call to serve again in 2023 election told the delegation “my contest is to consolidate the gains recorded from 2015”.
“I want to give glory to God, my constituents, may God give us victory and bless our victory.
“Is God that give success, may God give us success” he said.
The highpoint of the event was the presentation of nomination form to the senator by leader of the delegation, Attahiru.
