No fewer than 47,790 beneficiaries of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) program in Jigawa State, have taken a significant step towards ensuring the effective use of support provided to them.
This was disclosed on Wednesday during the distribution of incubators to beneficiaries in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area by the FADAMA CARES Coordinator, Dr. Aliyu Inuwa.
He highlighted the importance of the agreement in achieving the desired objectives of the intervention.
He stressed that the beneficiaries, who are part of the program’s Results Area II, have signed a utilization agreement that outlines the terms and conditions for the use of resources provided under the program.
According to the State FADAMA CARES Coordinator, the agreement is crucial in achieving the program’s objectives, which include supporting individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Inuwa noted that the program has supported over 47,790 individuals in Jigawa State, including farmers, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable households.
He said the support provided includes agricultural inputs, livestock, and equipment for various livelihood ventures.
He added that the utilization agreement is expected to ensure that beneficiaries use the resources provided effectively and efficiently.
He however warned that any violation of the agreement would attract legal consequences, emphasizing that the program is not just about recovery but also about creating sustainable livelihoods for the people of Jigawa State.
