A new faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has emerged in Zamfara state.
Indeed, the aggrieved members who called themselves, true PDP have opened a faction party secretariat and named a new party chairman.
It also expelled all former party executives under the leadership of Alhaji Tukur Danfulani.
Addressing news conference on Friday at the True PDP headquarters in Gusau, the faction chairman, Bilyaminu Aliyu Badarawa alleged that Danfulani leadership of PDP in the State was not respecting members opinions.
“Following some irregularities observed in our beloved party (PDP) in Zamfara State, we the true and genuine members of PDP have decided to form a faction named “True PDP” under the auspices of Bilyaminu Aliyu Badarawa and his state executives, local governments, 147 wards executives and 2516 polling units representatives.
“The PDP leadership in Zamfara State is not respecting opinions from its members, elders and other patrons of the party which led to losing its glory beside selective justice and I don’t care attitude for the flight of its members”.
According to him, it has become imperative to form the “True PDP “to salvage the Peoples Democratic Party in Zamfara State from sinking and deteriorating under factional chairman Alhaji Tukur Danfulani.
“We suffered to ensure PDP excel in Zamfara State since inception, when some of the present leaders of the party were in the other parties but unfortunately we are being neglected.
“That as from today 30th April 2021, I as state coordinator, PDP Grass roots mobilization and new chairman True PDP Zamfara State have expelled Alhaji Tukur Danfulani and his entire excos”.
He disclosed that a letter of notification of the formation of true PDP has been communicated to the northwest zonal office and the national party chairman.
“The northwest zonal office and national Headquarters of the PDP have been fully intimated about the development”.
When contacted about the new development, the state Party secretary under the leadership of Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, Ibrahim Gado Dangaladima Birnin Magaji said the party was not aware of such move.
He maintained that he was just hearing it from tnewsmen for the first time, “I am hearing it from you now, I know nothing either in written or verbally “.
