A former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has distributed subsidized assorted fertilizer to farmers in the state.
Yari flagged off the distribution of 50 trucks of fertilizer on Saturday at the State headquarters of All progressive Congress, APC in Gusau.
He disclosed that a total of 50 trucks loaded with fertilizer were procured and distributed to teeming farmers of the State at very subsidized rate.
He maintained that the fertilizer would be distributed across the wards and to the 2,516 polling units in the State.
According to him, each local government will get 1,850 bags, adding that each bag would be to be sold at the cost of N4,750 as against N15,00 market price.
“The gesture was based on our consideration to assist small scale farmers to get the product at affordable price for them to improve their farming activities”.
The National caretaker chairman of APC, Mai mala Buni lauded the efforts of the former Governo for the kind gesture.
Buni, who was represented by the Northwest zonal national caretaker committee chairman of the APC, Senator Abba Ali, commended the former Governor for the support given to farmers in State.
Earlier, Zamfara State APC caretaker committee chairman, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman Kaura lauded the national leadership of the party under the leadership of Maimala Buni for bringingprogressive changes to the party nation wide.
