A member of All progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara state Dr sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has urged security agencies to put ex-governor Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa on security watchlist.
Specifically, he blamed the duo for allegedly fueling internal crisis in the Zamfara state chapter of the APC.
“I call on the security agencies in Zamfara State to put eye on former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and Senator kabiru Marafa, “put them on your watch list, they are desperate politicians” Shinkafi said.
Speaking at a press conference in Gusau, Shinkafi said the two APC chieftains have violated the party’s constitution, alleging that they want to stage political coup against Governor Bello Mattawale of Zamfara State.
He said “To my greatest surprise, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and Senator kabiru Marafa went to Kaduna and turned down all what was said by the National Caretaker committee chairman of APC during Zamfara Governor’s recent defection to APC”.
According to shinkafi, former Governor Yari during the defection ceremony told the public that he has nothing against the Governor Mattawale’s leadership in the State.
“I call on the National leadership of the APC to as a matter of urgency take neccessary action against the former Governor and Senator Marafa who disregarded the constitution of the party.
“They have clearly violated the constitution of the party and deserve to be punish accordingly.
“The constitution of the party has clearly spelt out the role of each and every member of the party.
“I also call on the Mai mala Buni led caretaker committee to take neccessary action against those that gathered in Kaduna and violated the party constitution.
“Governor Mattawale remains the Executive Governor of Zamfara State and from 29th of June 2021 he is the leader of All progressive Congress in the State”.
Shinkafi alleged that both Yari and Marafa want to stage a coup against the Governor Bello Mattawale for organizing a gathering in Kaduna which was against the party constitution, “they want to bring factions in the party”.
He urged Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai to steer clear from Zamfara internal political crisis, saying I have respect on him. “Why are you fueling Zamfara political crisis you are our inlaw” Shinkafi added.
