Over Seven thousand poor and vulnerable households in Auyo LGA in Jigawa state have received the recommencement stipends of N140m, under the Federal Government re- commencement Household’s Uplifting Program Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme.
At the inauguration of the scheme held at the Auyo Council Secretariat, the Chairman, Ahmad Muhammad Sani commended the laudable initiative of the federal government in curtailing poverty amongst rural dwelers through the payment’s of the Conditional Cash Transfer Money Scheme.
According to him, this pattern of payments has uplifted the living standard of the poor and vulnerable in the community, especially at the grassroot levels, saying it has helped immensely in making people to gain employment based on one’s areas of commercial venture.
“Available records indicate that majority of women are engaged in different economic programs through the support of this Federal government CCT support”, the council chairman said.
Also speaking, Jigawa state Communication officer of the Conditional Cash Transfer, Comrade Mustapha Yakubu Madobi called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the stipends judiciously.
“I implore you to utilize your income wisely on viable economic activity that will better your living condition and not for extravagant spendings” Madobi said.
He warned the beneficiaries not to entertain middlemen, or bribe anyone for inclusion in the process of Conditional Cash Transfer Stipends, stressing that the program was directly under the supervision of the Federal Government and was fully coordinated.
“We don’t engage any outsider as our agent or representative, whenever you are indoubt or seek any clarification visit any of our state’s offices”.
In his remarks, the Payment Service Provider, the Visual and ICT team leader, who supervised the payment’s, Mr. Samuel Ojerinde said “we divided the 10 Ward’s of Auyo council into four segments to ease our job”.
According to him, we tried as much as we could in ensuring that the over 7,000 beneficiaries were fully captured, screened, and paid effectively to ensure social justice.
Malama Halima Mohammed on behalf of the benefitting community said the stipends has helped them tremendously in transforming their economic status for self reliance.
Another beneficiary Binta Sani commended President Buhari for the gesture, saying “we used the stipends to support our domestic needs for improved living”.
