The Chairman House Committee on Information, Jigawa State House of Assembly,  Honourable Mohammed Adamu said the rumous making round alleging plan to impeach the Speaker, Idris Garba Jahun was not true.

Honourable Adamu while speaking to newsmen on Thursday said the allegation was a fake story against the house by trouble seekers, whose motive was to dent the image of the house and its members.

“It is a fake news from the people that don’t wish the state well, the legislature and the executive arm are in good working relationship.

“Such issue was never discussed by the members, the house must have a reason if it must impeach the speaker; what is the reason? No senator is meddling in the affairs of the house, we are independent, can those peddling such false rumours come out and prove their allegation”, he lamented.

He further explained that such statement was just an imaginary fiction by some groups outside the party trying to create confusion in the state.

He added that the Assembly was concerned about the well being of the state, rather than individual interest.

He also revealed that the law makers could not sit for some time because they were attending seminars and workshops outside the state.

Meanwhile, it was rumoured that the Speaker is among top contenders for the governorship ticket from a group not loyal to the governor.
