Zamfara: PDP conducts congresses in 147 wards, Says Col. Mande

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has conducted ward congresses in the 147 wards across the State successfully the caretaker chairman of the party Col. Bala Mande (rtd) has said. 

The state PDP wards congresses was conducted on Sunday as against Saturday that was earlier scheduled.


This shift was to avoid a clash with APC state congress that was held on Saturday.


Addressing newsmen on Monday,  Mande said the congresses in all the 147 wards was peacefully and in accordance with the constitution of the party.


Mande appreciated the massive turnout of delegates who participated to elect officials to run PDP at the grassroo and urged the party supporters to remain law abiding.

It was gathered that the National secretariat of the PDP in Abuja sent a 5-man committee that supervised the excercise.

Also speaking, the state publicity secretary, Alhaji Faruk Rijiya disclosed that all the delegates from the State, local government and wards level participated in the conduct of the congresses.

Rijiya said with the defection of Governor Bello Matawalle to APC, the leader of PDP is now the State deputy Governor Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Mohammed.
