Northern Surveyors bemoan shortage of registered professionals

Northern Surveyors Forum has decried the shortage of registered professional surveyors in Northern Nigeria, describing the situation as very alarming.


Speaking shortly after his election as the new chairman of the forum at the Manpower Development Institute Dutse, Dr Isa Funtuwa Abdulkari promised to cooperate with other stakeholders to enhance the profession in Northern Nigeria.


Dr Funtua also urged the association members to be more proactive and assist the young professional graduates to register with the body for effective guidance in practicing the profession.


In a communique at the end of the meeting, the association resolved to join hands with governments and all other critical stakeholders to address the forums challenges, while a befitting regional office will be opened in Kaduna to coordinate the association’s activities.

Other executives elected during the meeting include Kabiru Arugungun Deputy Chairman, Surveyor Muhajjir Secretary, Mr Abduljabbar assistance secretary, Rashida Bashir Treasurer, Dr Shuaibu M. Ade Financial secretary, Ibrahim Gumu Auditor and Umar Hussaini PRO.
