Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Zamfara State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) has said they will throw their weight behind any presidential candidate of the party from the north.
Speaking in an interview in Gusau, the state PDP Caretaker committee publicity secretary, Alhaji Faruk Rijiya said Nigeria now need a president that would bail out masses from the present predicament.
He described the PDP as a party with human feelings and ready to better the lives of every Nigerian irrespective of religion or region.
He emphasised that the state PDP would support the actualisation of any northern presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 presidential contest.
“We are ready to support any presidential aspirant who has a vision and mission to transform and better the living condition of Nigeria and bail them out of the present predicament”.
Rijiya said already ground work was in the pipeline for the actualisation of northern PDP candidate for president.
According to Rijiya, the recent defection of Governor Bello Matawalle to APC would not deter PDP in the state from waxing stronger, “the leader of PDP in Zamfara is now the State deputy Governor, Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Mohammed” he said.
He called on PDP supporters to conduct themselves and remain law abiding.
