The Emir of Dutse in Jigawa state, Dr Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi has called on Federal Government to take urgent measures to reduce the rate of accidents along Kano/Maiduguri dual carriage way.
According to the Emir “many people have lost their lives in road accidents that especially at the round about at Kiyawa town in Jigawa State”.
The Emir raised the concerned at the official Commissioning and handover of Kano/Maiduguri Road Section II, Shuwarin to Azare held at Shuwarin town, Jigawa State.
To avert further calamities in the area, the Emir appealed to the authorities concerned to look at the two roundabout along Shuwarin Azare road to reduce the problem leading to frequent accidents.
President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman Adamu said that Kano/Maiduguri road section ll, Shuwarin to Azare covered about 263 km.
He said the Kano/Maiduguri road which linked Jigawa, Bauchi, Yobe and Borno states, is a critical components of the National road network in the country.
