Former Nigerian leader, Chief Ernest Shonekan is dead.
Shonekan was head of the Interim National Government that succeeded the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.
The former leader died in Lagos at the age of 85.
He was the interim head of the Nigerian Government between August 26 and November 17 1993, following the annulment of the June 1993 presidential election.
He was however ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
