The Zamfara state Board of Internal Revenue Service (ZSBIRS) has projected to generate N11 billion in the year 2022.
The board also expressed preparedness to block all revenue leakages, adding that it will introduced e payments, PoS and remita for payment in the State.
Chairman of the Zamfara state Revenue Service, Alhaji Akilu Dama made the revelation, saying the new strategies were adopted to realise set target.
“Part of the strategy is the introduction of e payments, PoS and remita to block some leakages in the payment of revenue in the State”.
He added that leakages were blocked in the payment and collection of revenue, stressing that 80% of revenue leakages were blocked.
“In 2021, despite insecurity, we were abled to generate the sum of three billion naira when markets and telecommunications were shutdown in the State, this year 2022 we target N11 billion naira or even above by the Grace of God”.
According to him, already sensitization and enlightenment of stakeholders such as, okada riders, commercial tricyclists and cattle sellers were embarked to enhance the collection of revenue in the state.
“We gave deadline up to the end of 31st of January 2022 for those okada riders, Commercial tricyclists who are yet to register with the revenue board to do so for our tax collection”.
Dama however maintained that the tax of every person depend on what he realized from his business and his income.
He warned against illegal registration of vehicles particulars and buying of fake numbers plates in the state.
“Avoid fake registration of vehicles and purchase of number plates from unauthorized officials, the board is now determine to enhance payment of necessary dues to the right channel.”
He therefore solicited for cooperation from all stakeholders to achieve desired goals.
