The immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau State, Hon. Latep Dabang has defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with scores of APC members.
He also defected with former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Nanppn Tom, Ex-assistant secretary of the APC, Binkur. N and several others.
Dabang was received on Tuesday during a Mega rally tagged, “The Great Movement” held in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He expressed strong optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will take over Plateau in 2023.
Dabang, who spoke with Journalists shortly after his defection, called on his supporters to join the PDP.
He expressed confidence that PDP will win Pankshin South State Constituency and Jos North/ Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election slated for 26th February, 2022.
“I have assurance that PDP will win, because I don’t have any doubts in my mind, the two bye-elections, we will win”.
Hon. Dabang, who defected with the Former State Assistant Secretary of the APC, Hon. Binkur N. amongst other political bigwigs said he will deploy his political asenals against the APC in the State to ensure the party’s victory.
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Hon. Chris Hassan said the party would receive more APC members to the PDP.
He noted that the PDP has been repositioned to take over Government House Rayfield in 2023.
Hassan explained that with the defection of the political heavy weight from APC to the opposition party, they are expecting total victory in 2023 general election.
He added that in the next few weeks there will be another rally in Jos where the national leadership of the party will receive all those who defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
