Zamfara state House of Assembly has announced the impeachment of the state Deputy Governor, Barr. Mahdi Ali Gusau.
This followed allegations of abuse of office by the former deputy governor.
Announcing the impeachment on Wednesday, the Speaker, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya said, the legislative arm while discharging its constitutional responsibility, did not leave any stone unturned.
According to him, the house sat and deliberated in order to be fair in its investigations before arriving at the impeachment.
He said the Assembly has now declared the office of the deputy governor Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Mohammed Gusau vacant.
