Sen. Jibrin Isa Echocho has urged Igala people to support the new Atah of Igala, for rapid socio-economic development of the area.
Echocho thanked God for the emergence of Gabaidu, HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa as Atah Igala, also expressed optimism that the new Atah, will unite Igala kinsmen to present a common front, that would lead to development.
Senator Echocho who represents Kogi East Senatial District in the National Assembly, made the plea recently during the recent coronation of the Atah Igala.
An advocate of youth empowerment and rural development, Echocho said youth restiveness in Kogi State and particularly Kogi East is due to unemployment.
To change the narrative, the senator said he is vigorously on the move to harness the raw materials available in Igala kingdom for productive purposes.
He said “In the next three weeks, Ibaji Rice Milling will be commission and will go into full production to take away three to four hundred Igala youth from the street. Acharu Oil Palm Processing too which I have reactivated, will commence operation.
“I have been able to established a Vocational Training Center at Anyigba, with variety of machines where a lot of Igala youth will be absorbed for training in various skills”.
The lawmaker reiterated that a bill to convert College of Education Ankpa to Federal College of Education has gone through all the readings and will be going to the president for assent.
He added that a bill for take over of Eye Hospital Ochadamu has also gone through third reading.
“I will be unrelenting until my bill for the establishment of Federal Orthopaedic Hospital in Dekina, which has gone through the third reading and now at the House of Representative for concurrence becomes a reality”.
He however lauded the support of Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and the people of Igala kingdom for his achievements in the Senate so far.
