Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs in the House of Representatives Hon Yusuf Buba has congratulated Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on his 60th birthday.
Buba, a member representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, expressed his felicitation In a congratulatory message personally signed by him and made available on Saturday by Nkem Anyata-Lafia, his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, in Abuja.
He poured encomiums on the Lagos-born legal and legislative icon, whose foray into the legislature, he said, “has spanned almost two decades of active involvement in the affairs of the Green Chambers of the National Assembly through which he had been a minority leader, house leader, among other committee chairmanship positions, before capping it with his current position as speaker.”
In the message, the lawmaker said: “Today is yet another milestone in the exciting story of your earthly sojourn.
“Among the many great achievements,which have dotted the path of your continuous evolution as not just the national leader which you have become, but the statesman of repute that has been bestowed on you by the selfless, nationalistic fervour with which you have carried on the duties of state these past years, today’s celebration of 60 great years on mother earth stands out as a resounding testimony of God’s Great Grace, Uncommon Favour and Wisdom that Speaks Right at All Times and Places!
“At 60, you have by dint of hard work, selflessness and sheer brilliance in the management of men and resources, showcased to the world the very essence of what leaders should be, especially,in our own part of the world where many who strive to lay claim to leadership lack the true credentials to be so qualified in deeds and character…
“At 60, Your Excellency, our dear leader, my leader, you have by sheer strength of character, competence and courage, won millions of admirers and followers for yourself and have shown to the world that one only needs to demonstrate commitment to what one believes in and offer true direction at all times for those they lead to constantly have faith and follow them. In doing this,you have raised other men and mentored leaders in the different noble callings upon which you have etched your name in letters of gold these solid sixty years…
“For myself, my dear family and, indeed,the good people of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, whose mandate I retain in the House of Representatives, I join millions of your admirers and well-wishers across the globe to convey to you our gratitude for all that you mean to us and, equally, congratulate you on attaining this new age of wisdom and greater maturity in the affairs of life.

It would be recalled that Rep. Gbajabiamila has been a Member representing Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives since 2003 and in 2019 assumed the leadership of the 360-member lower legislative chamber of Nigeria’s National Assembly.
He was returned unopposed in his constituency at the last primary election of the ruling APC to select a standard-bearer for the party.
