The Senate minority caucus on Wednesday gave President Muhammadu Buhari six weeks to address the lingering insecurity or face impeachment.

Addressing Journalists shortly after the walk out, the Senate minority leader, Senator Phillip Aduda ( FCT) said the decision to give Buhari ultimatum was discussed at closed door meeting of senators but the Senate President reneged after the closed door session.

Consequently, Aduda said the minority caucus had no option than to stage a walk out of the plenary.

According to Aduda, “the primary responsibility of government is security of lives and properties, even Abuja is no longer safe.

“We will give Buhari ultimatum and if he did not comply we will give him impeachment notice.

“We walked out of the chamber to express our grievances.

“We will give him six weeks for this resolution to be implemented.

“We gave him all the appropriation in the past” Aduda addded.
