Zamfara state Police Command has repelled bandits attack, arrested Eight (8) Bandits Informants, recovered four (4) rifles, 250 rounds of live ammunition in the state.
Similarly, 9 rustled cows and truck conveying drugs and food stuff meant for bandits operating in Dangulbi-Magami area in the state.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday at the Command headquarters in Gusau, the police public relations officer SP Mohammed Shehu said the Command would not relent in its onslaught against activities of criminal elements in the State.
“The Zamfara State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Kolo Yusuf psc, has reiterated the determination of the officers and men of the Command to keep on doing their possible best in line with the mission and vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba to end the lingering insecurity bedeviling the State for over a decade”.
The Commissioner of Police gave the assurance while parading nine (9) suspects arrested by the Police Tactical Operatives during an intelligence led operations conducted in some criminal hideouts in the State.
“On 6th October, 2022, Police Tactical Operatives acted on intelligence information and arrested the above named suspects who were allegedly collaborating with notorious bandits from Munhaye forest in Tsafe Local government area.”
He disclosed that One of the suspects, Hauwa’u Usman, a female residing in Gusau confessed that Ali and Hamza are her younger brothers and are among the bandits who are based in Munhaye forest and terrorizing communities of Tsafe and neighbouring Katsina State.
“Intelligence information about her revealed that she has been an informant to her two younger brothers (Bandits) in the bush. Even though, she denied fraternizing with them, but she indicted the second suspect Aliyu Mamuda to be the supplier of drugs, food stuff, operational motorcycles for banditry and hiring labourers for the bandits to go and farm their farmlands in the bush”.
