2023: Jigawa REC urges registered voters to check their names on list

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will display list of registered voters in all the electoral wards of Jigawa state for people to check their names and pictures from November 12 to 25, 2022.

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the newly posted Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Muhammad Lawal Bashar while briefing reporters in Dutse.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner called on the Media to sensitize and educate communities to come out enmasse, check their names and pictures on the list and notify INEC of any mistake.

According to him INEC took this action in order to make the impact felt across the  the state.

He further explained that INEC has also made arrangement on how to make people with disability and blind in particular, how to check their names and cast their voters during the elections.

He said already the law has protected and embedded it in the electoral process to enable the people with special needs cast their votes during the elections.
