DSS Denies invasion of CBN, arrest of Emefiele

The Department of State Services has refuted the purported invasion of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by its operatives.

The service, in a statement on Monday evening by  Peter Afunanya, Public Relations Officer also denied the arrest of the governor of the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele following the alleged invasion.

It described the news as fake and misleading.


The statement read in full: “The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the false news making the round that its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its Governor, today 16/1/23.


 “This is fake news and quite misleading”.
