New Naira Notes: NOA takes awareness campaign to Mosques, Churches, Motor parks in Zamfara

Ahead of deadline of transactions with old naira notes, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Zamfara state has embarked on sensitization at Mosques, Churches, Motor parks and markets place in the state. 

Speaking on Friday at Gusau central motor park, the acting state Director of NOA, Aminu Ibrahim said the sensitization was in collaboration with Central bank, Gusau to ensure proper public awareness on the designed new naira notes.

According to him, the awareness campaign was to further alert the general public on the deadline set by the CBN for the expiration of old naira notes.

He stressed that to ensure customers adhere to deadline on returning old naira notes to banks, about 2000 volunteer war brigade were engaged to sensitize rural communities in the state. 

“Today’s awareness campaign was to ensure customers know the deadline of CBN is still 31st of this month, old naira notes is no longer legal tender after the expiration of the slated date”.

He disclosed that NOA awareness campaign has reached Mosques, Churches and motor parks across the state. 

“We engaged volunteers like war brigade and some of our staff to rural areas for more sensitization to communities on the need for rural dwellers to adhere to the deadline on transaction with old naira notes and the re-disigned one which is now available at banks in the state” he said.
