NYCN inaugurates 10-member advisory council in Zamfara

The Zamfara state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has inaugurated a 10-member Advisory council for the development of its activities in the state. 

The state NYCN chairman, Barrister Bashar Garba made this known on Sunday in Gusau during the 2023 youth conference.

Speaking at the conference with the theme “Youth charting the course”, Garba said the inauguration of council members was inline with NYCN Constitution as amended.

“Advisory council is In line with the provision of article 10.3 of the NYCN  constitution 2018 as amended, I hereby inaugurates the following men of proving integrity as members of state Advisory  council” he said. 

He advised young people in the state to refrain from all forms of crime, stressing that crime does no one any good, “we advise that all energies be channel towards more productive activities” he stressed. 

According to him, NYCN will continue to forge a strong and efficient partnership with all security agencies in tackling crimes and insecurity.

He however commended Governor Bello Mattawale of Zamfara state for engaging the youth in governance, saying the governor has appointed them as commissioners, Special Advisers, Director generals, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.

“Governor Mattawale has done what no  Governor in Nigeria did by involving the youth to fully participate in governance of the state and placing their future in their hands “.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr Sanusi Yakubu who is the provost Zamfara state college of Arts and Sciences, Gusau said what NYCN was doing is simply to build the youths.

According to him, Youth are the engine of any nation, “sensitizing youth on election is like preparing for a peaceful and credible transition” he said. 

Those inaugurated were Mohammed Abba Dankande, Aminu Lawal Koramar Boko, Bashir Bello kaura, Sanusi Musa Gusau, Lukman Majidadi, Dr. Jalalludeen Ibrahim, Rilwan Ahmed kaura, Ambassador Abdulmajid Danmaliki, Usman Musa Maizare and Hajia Zainab Nuhu.
