The Zamfara state commissioner for commerce and industries, Yazid Shehu Danfulani has donated cash, 300 mobile POS machines, kiosks, table and chairs to 300 youths in the state to enhance empowerment of youths in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony held on Wednesday in Gusau, the state capital, Danfulani said the gesture was to compliment the efforts of the state government in providing employment opportunity to Youths in the state.
According to him, “the world is going digital, transaction is becoming cashless, many businesses and transactions are now through POS, hence our youths need to be engaged in digital business and become self reliant.
He explained that the beneficiaries of the gesture have undergone training on how to use the mobile POS machine.
“Cash assistance of fifty thousand naira will be given to each person, POS machine, kiosk, table and chair for them to be self employed in the state”.
He noted that the beneficiaries were drawn across the 14 local government areas in the state, “We are today flagging off the exercise with 150 youths comprising men and women as first batch while second batch would follow later”.
He therefore called on the benefiting youths to be dedicated, patient and remain committed to their business for them to be self employed.
