Dangati emerges Speaker Jigawa state House of Assembly

Member representing Miga constituency, Honourable Haruna Aliyu Dangati has emerged Speaker of the Jigawa state Assembly. 

The election was conducted on the floor of the House on Wednesday, in the presence of the state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi and his Deputy, Engineer Aminu Usman.

The oath of office of the Speaker was administered by Barrister Musa Abubakar Kila.

It would be recalled that the Speaker was nominated by a member representing Malam Madori constituency, Honourable Hamza Ibrahim and seconded by a member representing Birnin Kudu constituency, Honourable Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim. 


In his acceptance speech, the new Speaker said “where much is invested, more is also expected” saying, a lot of hopes are on them by their constituents. 

“We should work hard to justify the hopes our constituents have on us”, 

He also promised that the present 8th Jigawa Assembly will create a robust relationship between the legislature and the executive arm.

He said during his tenure, the house will work hard with stakeholders to prove to the world that the state is endow with Agriculture and Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The Speaker’s nomination was unopposed and the nomination of Honourable Sani Ishiaka representing Gumel constituency as Deputy Speaker was also unopposed.
