The governor of Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal has signed an executive order for the restructuring of the government ministries and agencies to reduce cost of governance and improve quality service delivery among others.
The governor, who signed the order on Thursday, said the aim is to reduce the cost of governance as part of the mission agenda of his administration, a statement by Nuhu Salihu Anka,Director General, Media and communication. Office of the executive governor of Zamfara State said.
He noted that the restructuring will also affect other government departments, agencies as well as Parestatals with a view to ensuring effectiveness, functionality and avoid redundancy.
Governor Dauda Lawal affirmed that, People of proven integrity and hard work will be appointed to man the ministries for enhanced governance that will develop the state in all ramifications.
He added that the restructuring among other things will create more opportunities and provide more jobs for citizenry and solidify government operations.
The restructured ministries are;
1. Ministry of Agriculture2. Ministry of Budget and Planning3. Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry4. Ministry of Education, Science and Technology5. Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources6. Ministry of Finance7. Ministry of Health8. Ministry of Information and Culture9. Ministry of Justice10. Ministry for Housing and Urban Development11. Ministry for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs12. Ministry for Religious Affairs13. Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development14. Ministry of Works and Infrastructure15. Ministry of Youth and Sports 16. Ministry for internal Security and Home affairs
The governor therefore, urged good people of the state to support government policies and programmes as well as to pray for the state, present administration and for restoration peace and tranquility in the state.
