The chairman of senate committee on water resources, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari is set to distribute 145 trucks of Maize as palliative across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara state.

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing the west zone of the state had recently constituted committees for the distribution of palliatives, not only in his Senatorial zone but in the whole state.

Chairman of the 25-man distribution committee, Hon. Lawal Liman said the distribution of the palliative will commence concurrently across the 147 wards of the state by Tuesday.

According to Liman, each local government has been allocated 10 trucks of Maize for 12,000 beneficiaries, captured during enumeration conducted by local government and ward level committees, except Gusau local government that has additional five trucks.

“Under the arrangement, the chairman of the committee, who is also leader of A A Yari political Organization emphasized that, out of the 12,000 beneficiaries for each local government area, 1000 beneficiaries must be drawn from each ward, while the remaining would be added to the local government headquarters”.

He explained that beneficiaries must be heads of households, needy, widows left with orphans and divorcees with young children.

He however charged the committee members to be just and fair in the distribution and urged the beneficiaries to pray for the donor.

He also admonished them to pray for peace in the state and Nigeria at large.

It would be recalled that Yari recently distributed 3900 bags of maize to his constituents in Talata Mafara.
