The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday, warned ministries, Agencies and parastatals of dire consequences against non-appearance at 2024 budget defence.
According to the Senate President, “the goal of the 2024 budget is to improve Socio-Economic condition of Nigerian people”.
Akpabio, who spoke through the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin at a one-day interactive session of Senate committee on Appropriation said there is consequence for agencies and MDAs who fail to appear to defend their budget.
Recall President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, 29th November presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N27.5 trillion before a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Further recall that in a bid to enhance the passage of the 2024 appropriation bill before the end of December, joint committees of the Senate and House of Representatives will sit during budget defence by ministries, agencies and parastatals.
