Youth Group trains 350 Women Entrepreneurs in Jigawa

Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development (YCSCD), in partnership with the Jigawa State Government and the Federal University Dutse (FUD) have embarked on training of 350 women Entrepreneurs.

The training session was flagged off by the State Governor, Umar Namadi at the centre for Entrepreneurship, FUD on Monday.

It was aimed at creating Job opportunities and poverty eradication among the women folks selected across the 27 Local Government Areas across the state.

The Governor represented by Dr Habib Ubale, the Executive Secretary, Economic Empowerment and Youth Development (EEYD)

described the training as good effort that will complement the effort of the state government on youth and women empowerment.

“The youth and women empowerment is one of the key aspect of the 12 point agenda designed to make people self reliant.

“Promote wealth creation, build strong and resilient economy that would make Jigawa great forever.

“We have already renovated and equipped six major skill acquisition centres in the state.

“Many youth and women are already there receiving various skills training, therefore we are ready to partner with any group or individual which indicate interest”, he stressed.

It is expected at the end of the training each participant will benefit from the state government gesture of N50,000.00 each.

The chief host and the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed said FUD is in support of entrepreneurship.

“The programme is in tandem with our religious belief that,  If you train women you train the society and if you leave them, you leave the society”, he added.

Also the convener of the programme and the Director YCSCD, Comrade Aminu Aminu said the empowerment training was organized as pay back.
