The Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Jigawa State Chapter, Aisha Ilyasu Surko has donated some relief materials including Medication to inmates at the Dutse Correctional centre.
During the visit on Tuesday, Surko was accompanied by her team where prayers were offered for the inmates.
The visit enabled the team to engaged with the female inmates who narrated their challenges.
Surko reiterated NAWOJ’s commitment to aiding the correctional center and also advised the inmates on the importance of good conduct.
The officer in charge of the center, Kafilu Abdullahi Nasarawa commended NAWOJ’s thoughtful gesture.
He acknowledged the importance of such outreach efforts for inmates situated away from urban centres.
