Zamfara state House of Assembly has slammed indefinite suspension on eight lawmakers who masterminded aborted impeachment plot against speaker of the house, Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki last week.

The Majority Leader of the house, Muhammad Mazawaje had moved a motion for the suspension of the lawmakers, saying they allegedly intruded into the offices of the Clerk of the House and Sergeant at Arms and destroyed some properties of the House of Assembly complex in Gusau.

Recall that the suspended lawmakers had last Thursday impeached Speaker Moriki and appointed a new speaker over his alleged failure to address security challenges in the state.

The eight suspended lawmakers include, Sani Abdullahi, Nasiru Maru, Bashir Abubakar, Aminu Keta, Faruk Dosara, Bashir Aliyu, Ibrahim Tukur and Shamsuddeen Hasan.

The Majority Leader had in his submission described the sitting conducted by the suspended eight lawmakers as unconstitutional and contravention of stipulated rules of the House business.
