Following the death of chief Imam of Kabba, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello on Monday, declared a two-week lockdown in the Kabba/Bunu LGA of the state.

The lockdown would enable testing and contact tracing of the alleged coronavirus index case announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The Governor issued the lockdown order at a press briefing, saying that the measure will be total.

Recall the NCDC had last Wednesday, in its daily update, said that the Chief Imam of Kabba, Sheik Ahmad Ejibunu tested positive for Covid-19.

A statement from the Government House reads: “Following the alleged and controversial COVID-19 index case in Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello in a state broadcast on Monday, 1st of June, 2020, has ordered 14 days absolute lockdown of Kabba-Bunu LGA of the state, effective from 12 midnight June 2nd.
