Jigawa Assembly recalls suspended council chairmen

Jigawa State House of Assembly has recalled the four local government council chairmen suspended early this year. 

SINL Nigeria Online recalls that the council chairmen were suspended for alleged misconduct, negligence and misuse of public funds among others.

Our correspondent on Saturday learnt that the suspension of the four council chairmen was lifted after the committee set up to investigate the matter by the House of Assembly submitted its report.

The affected local council ‘s bosses were Honourable Bappa Shinge of Auyo LGA, Bala Usman-Chamo of Dutse LGA, Ahmed Rufa’i of Gumel LGA and Shehu Sule-Udi of Ringim LGA respectively. 

Mr Aminu Zakari, the Chairman of the committee, while presenting the report listed eleven findings and observations unearthed by the committee during its investigation.

One of the recommendations accorded to the chairman, was to issue a stern warning to the affected chairmen to desist from any act unethical of holder of the office of local government council. 

“That this Honourable House should graciously consider the pleas of the suspended council chairmen”.

The committee report recommended that the suspension placed on the four council chairmen be lifted.

Meanwhile, one of the chairmen, Usman-Chamo of Dutse Local Government said that the gesture done to them was in good faith and therefore commended the members of the State Assembly.

Usman-Chamo before his suspension was the state and  National ALGON chairman.

He therefore reaffirmed their loyalty to the state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi and All Progressive Congress (APC).
