Ndume rejects  chairmanship of Senate committee on Tourism

Senator representing Borno south, Ali Ndume has declined the chairmanship of the Senate committee on Tourism offered him by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Indeed, the lawmaker has  broken the silence on his removal as the Chief Whip of the Senate, saying, having reviewed the conversation that prompted his ouster, his action did not warrant his sack.

Recall, Ndume was removed as the senate chief whip for been critical of the President Bola Tinubu government’s handling of the nation.

But 48 hours after, the lawmaker said he has declined the chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Tourism, arguing that he lacks the experience and exposure to lead such a sensitive group.

Ndume spoke on Friday in Maiduguri.

According to him, he never wanted to be a senate whip after serving as the leader in the eight Senate.

He explained that he could not speak up immediately after his removal because he was bereaved.
