The Concerned Citizens of Northern Nigeria (CCNN), Jigawa State chapter has withdrawn from the planned nation wide protest against the government.

CCNN Coordinator, Mr Muhammad Bello, who spoke on Saturday said they withdrew because of the hidden agenda behind the protest.

He announced that the youths were from different groups

across the 27 Local Government areas of the state.

“The decision to withdraw from the protest was reached in consultation with 20 affiliate associations in the state.

“Initially, we actively participated in the mobilisation of people to partake in the process considering the prevailing conditions of insecurity, hunger and starvation in the country.

“However, after considering the circumstances surrounding the protest, the CCNN Jigawa state chapter, including 27 LGAs branches, hereby announce its withdrawal form the planned nationwide protest,” Bello said.

He said as concerned citizens of the north, the group’s priority is the peace and stability of the region.
